You know...in any other country that would be a MAJOR health code violation and it would shut the place down. They are slaughtering in the middle of the dining area...sick
the world is not comprised of the USA, the UK, France, Germany, and a handful of countries that call themselves the west.
there are hundreds of cultures, thousands of languages, and millions of ways to prepare a meal. did you know that all meat packers in the USA smoke their meat with CO in order to give it the bright red 'fresh' look? if you're not cultured, travel, you'll learn a lot, but mostly that your world is only a small part of the real world.
Getting your meat from a supermarket doesnt mean it wasn't from an animal !
George is spot on ....I am constantly amazed as to how many western children do not know that french fries are from potatoes etc etc . Much better the above minus chemicals not to mention too long in storage !

And George, thanks for saying what I wanted to say. For thousands of years, people have been eating their meat like that. Survival is so "sick", eh ? It couldn't be fresher than that.
I'm not shocked at all by these images...it is indeed like this people have been preparing their meeting for generations and not only in Lebanon. Better think about the yummy roast it will become...
