APPEAL for PROFESSIONALS : Reconstruction Efforts

In the eventual reconstruction of Southern Lebanon, Lebanese NGO’s hope to adhere to international best practices for minimizing environmental impact and ensuring sustainability. They are launching an appeal for:

- Information and examples of environmentally sustainable, low impact reconstruction efforts, especially in rural areas.

- Assistance preparing project proposals and grant applications.

- Organizations willing to oversee and/or fund demonstration projects capable of duplication.

- Expertise in specific related areas such as sanitation and renewable energy.

Great idea. I imagine one aspect that would make sense is to focus on local power sources, rather than a power station that could be knocked out by one rocket.
