Chaim Weizmann, head of the World Zionist Organization, wrote (around 1919-1920) to Prime Minister David Lloyd George that Lebanon was "well-watered" and that the Litani was "valueless to the territory north of the proposed frontiers. They can be used beneficially in the country much further south." He concluded the Litani was "essential to the future of the Jewish national home.'" Yes I agree with you. I see Hezbollah not as Terrorists (an invented Americanism that the press picked up on) but to coin an old word, "patriots" and/or "liberators" which is exactly what the Lebanese have been saying lately.
It is beyond comprehension that Israel reacted in such an uncivilized and ferocious manner without even considering talks with the Lebanese government before the bombardment of innocent people in Lebanon. They just needed an excuse and yes, what is really two Israeli soldiers to them? They have tortured Palestinian prisoners over the years with pleasure and they were just itching to annihilate an arab neighbour. Do you think the same thing would have happened to Jordan if Hezbollah were hold up there? I don't think so...and yes, they are after the Litani - they can't live without it! What an excuse to occupy southern Lebanon!
I live in New York City, and I know we could use some of these stickers in my nabe--they're sure to be a big hit here on the upper east side. :-P Does anyone in the NYC area have any more of these to distribute? I'll happily pay for the printing expenses, just wanted to know if someone's already gone through the ttrouble and wants help stickering.
I'd just like to suggest that people be careful about where they place these stickers. placing one on an ATM machine, over already existing text could be seen as uncivilized vandalism...

the word jihad is a derivative of the arabic word meaning "work" or "effort". jihad therefore is not just fighting. it is simply putting any kind of effort. jihad can also be in the form of scientific research, helpin the poor, or any other activity aimed at pleasing god. back in the day, you had the roman and persian empires conquering lands. there wasn't really the same kind of "diplomacy" we have today. the expansion of the islamic empire wasn't anything abnormal or crazy at that time. in a sense, anyone that had the power was doing just that. i'd also appreciate it if you were a bit more careful about your other rediculous claims about islam. ritual gang rapes? seriously, wtf are you talking about? islam forbids any kind of sexual activity outside of marriage. slavery was also forbidden. true, there are crazy people out there that wrap their personal views with religiousness in an attempt to get more people to follow them. but this isn't isolated to islam. remember the dark ages of europe? that was all in the name of christianity. the US seems to be heading in the direction at this very moment too, if you haven't noticed. it could also be argued that israel is the root of most islamic terrorism. personally, i think the state of the world is pretty good evidence that all these three religions (judaism, christianity, islam) do is bring misery to everyone. but as long as each side pretends to be blame-free and simply de-humanizes the other side, i can guarantee we'll get nowhere.
