And what about the people who don't? They are paying for it too! What about the Lebanese who DO speak out against Hizballah...and still suffer? You can't have an entire nation suffer, for the actions of Hizballah. By the way,if the 60% of people in Lebanon who don't support Hizballah were to react against the 40% who do...their would be a civil war AGAIN, and Syria and Iran would support Hizballah. It's not all as simplistic as you make it all seem. I wish we could just say "we don't want hizballah.." and boom they would disappear...
It's very tense situation, if the Lebanese government stands with Hezbollah, then nothing in Lebanon will be safe, absoultely nothing. If they speak out against Hezbollah, then like Kat said the country would plunge once again into civil war. Either way the Lebanese government is stuck between a rock and a hard place, trying to keep the fragile mosaic (18 religious sects) of Lebanon in tact. Besides this mosaic is what makes Lebanon so special. The only thing that could save us from future turmoil, in my opinion, is a stronger military force that could control, and operate the south, and evidently disarm Hezbollah, who started this whole debacle.
Thank you for deleting extreme messages. We get enough airplay of Israeli & US politicians and military excusing this humanitarian scandal every hour on radio and tv news. Who has the money? Who gets to dominate the media? Yep the usual suspects.
Bless you for increasing the flow of information from an ordinary human perspective and with balance of the light and the dark. You really help keep me sane through this madness. May you and yours be safe. May there be peace.

This blog is a blog. It is the view of one person. That person allows comments. That person also does some housekeeping to keep things sweet. This is not the BBC with a government requirement for balance. This is not a commercial tv/radio station which calls itself the Voice of Lebanon. No it is one person putting a lot of time, effort and money into reaching out with one viewpoint to the whole world. Start your own blog. Let's hear your point of view. I don't understand why NOBODY LISTENS...how are we suppossed to take our country BACK? Hizballah DOES NOT listen, they won't disarm, they don't care...if we protest, they get their people to counter-protest. What would you like us to do...physically disarm them? Our government is TOO weak...and now even weaker...stop being so idealistic. Trust me, we want peace more than anyone! On the left hand side of the screen where it says "war blogs" I clicked "From Israel to Lebanon". I had to turn my head away immediately. I could not bear the photos. When I got back to "blogginbeirut.com" I took another risk and cliked "Beirut Skyscrapers" under "war blogs", and it was quite refreshing. It showed Beirut from an Arial view before the war, and talked about Solidere and there plans for Beirut in the near future. The point i am making is, what is happening with Solidere right now? Are they being delayed becasue of the war? I dont know what is happening with them because I live in America, but i would like to know, becasue I was looking forward to seeing their work when my family goes to Lebanon in a few years ( give or take a few depending on when the war ends ). Someone please answere my qustion :-).
