The current Israeli bombing and destruction of Lebanon, is being funded and backed by the US government.
US tax payers are paying for the F16s, the Apaches, and the artillery that is crippling Lebanon. Moreover, it is not enough that the US gives Israel the green light in its attacks but it also supports them by rushing over Jet fuel (for the F16s) and precision guided bombs (much like the ones that destroyed the UN bunker).

Also, from the N.Y. Times:
"The decision to quickly ship the weapons to Israel was made with relatively little debate within the Bush administration, the officials said. Its disclosure threatens to anger Arab governments and others because of the appearance that the United States is actively aiding the Israeli bombing campaign in a way that could be compared to Iran’s efforts to arm and resupply Hezbollah."

Since its US tax payer money that is being used to fund Israel's assault then I URGE ALL US CITIZENS that oppose this war to make FOUR phone calls a day (and believe me they are quick calls):

+ Two calls to each one of your senators: Contact info for your Senators
To request that the US call for an immediate cease fire, and that YOUR tax money not be spent to fund Israel's devastating attacks on Lebanon.

+ One call to your representative: Contact info for your House Representative
Ask them to support resolutions:
H.Res. 945, proposed by Hon. Sheila Jackson Lee (asking for Humanitarian Aid to Lebanon)
H.CON.RES.450, proposed by Rep. Kucinich (asking for an immediate call for cease fire)

+ One all to a friend to ask them to do the same.

I have been doing just that daily, and it seriously takes only about five minutes and I have yet to run into long hold times.

So the next time you watch the news, remember this is your money funding this war, and that the least you can do is ask that it not be used for such a cause.

I wrote to my two senators D.IL) who are normally very peace lovely (against Iraq). They always respomd qiuckly too.

Wrote to my Congresswoman - Schakowsky, who is also against Iraq, and normally good about responding. It's been over a week - I've heard nothing. I went online line and discovered they cosponsored the back Israel bill.

I went onto a Lebanon newspaper to day. They had a sample letter that can be sent to anyone in the world (opens in Word). I filled that out and cut and pasted it into the REPs form letter thing.

I have no hope, but I can sleep at night.

I'll keep trying.

I have no problem if MY tax $$$ are spent on this war. It's cheaper and more effective if izraelis fighting islamofashists, that to send marine corp, and B-52s.

I am guessing all you know about this war is what you see on TV. The whole country is not for Hezbollah, just a certain part of the population, a very small part. The way you put it, it seems like your fine with the destruction of Lebanon. But the way israel is going about this is NOT working. Its just making eveything worse. Its our tax dollars that are being used to kill inocent people. how does that make you feel? If anything I said is wrong correct me.
