it's been a while since we've had so many great thinkers in one room.
nietzscheists, feminists, post-modernists, anarchists, leftists, artists, gemists, and others... all enjoying a tepid December evening in Gemmayze, in an old flat adorned with beams, arches and bare walls - bare but for a few scribbles.
the richness of Lebanon: its people
- the architect
- the photographer
- the gemist
- the designer
- the student
- the ...
all thinking outside the box, outside their box,
rummaging through each others' boxes for bits and pieces to consruct a new reality,
dare i say a lebanese reality?
of hope and the opposition
of les chevaliers du zodiac
of family guy and futurama
of democratic architecture
of where's waldo
of nietzsche and god
of horses, madness, and civilization
of coppola
of space pirates and wooden steering wheels
of exploding naked women
of benzeen and fink---
of ladders and stoppers
of breaking one's neck
and not being able to sue
of drunkedness
bowties and looking gay
of not giving a shit
of accidents
of spicy chips
of trinidad & tobago
and slippery nipples
of human computer interaction
bisexuality, revelations
and many... many more nights to come.
it reminded me of what it meant to be Lebanese
of why i had chosen to come back
- the magic in the interactions -
